Part of the reason that we created Rover was to develop a tool that recruiters could use for both daily and historic information related to the job market here in Australia. This information, which is invaluable to Recruiters, can also analyze and chart interesting information on the current state of the job market.
As an example of Rover in action, we took a look at the latest job openings from Australia’s leading job board, between the dates of February 28 and March 11, 2022. We looked specifically at job openings in New South Wales. We then placed the data into an interactive chart that can be used to spot trends and identify opportunities.

The majority of new job openings were in hospitality and tourism. But the top 3 positions, which you can see by identifying the largest circles, were not within this industry. They were:
- Registered Nurse
- Dental Assistant
- Administration Assistant
With the shortage of medical staff that we’re seeing throughout Australia, at least the first two positions are not at all surprising.
